"COSMOS" TEEN CENTER ON CRUISE SHIP | Spring 2017
OBJECTIVE
The goal of this project was to design a teen center for a cruise ship. Designer was responsible for research and programming.
CONCEPT
Escaping the fact that one is in the middle of the ocean on a cruise ship (with one's parents) is a tall order. "Cosmos" offers young people an opportunity to escape to a different world where they can engage in activities alone or with other teens.
SOLUTION
By offering multiple activity centers, this design aims to keep visitors actively engaged and takes into account that some teens are quiet and shy and others are louder and more sociable. Reading, art, virtual spaces are located opposite the lounge, activity room and dance floor. A central snack area offers an opportunity for teens to meet friends or just survey the action.
