CONCEPT

The goal of this carving was to express a time of personal transition in our lives. The natural form of the stone reminded of a boat and brought to mind the metaphor of being rudderless or adrift in the sea – and then catching a current or a breeze that propels you forward through the water.  The positive spaces are 'flow' and the negative space is 'no flow', opposing, yet necessary, experiences of life and the creative process.
